For three months, one VLAN at home had no IPv4. These are my notes on what that was like.
The setupThe firewall ran NAT64 and DNS64, so IPv6-only clients could still reach IPv4-only sites through translation.
What workedBrowsers, streaming, phones, laptops, and most apps. It was boring, which is exactly the point of a good transition.
What brokeGame consoles, an older printer, a few VPN clients, and anything that hard-codes an IPv4 address. Each had a workaround, but only after some digging.
I'd do it again. The details are on the IPv6-Only Test Network project page.
